DC Day.

#CANDID

This polar vortex just won't quit. Taking a look back at J's & my DC date 2 weekends ago w. amazingly gorgeous weather. We started our day at the Corcoran Gallery of Art which was something I really wanted to check out before it closes. {On Feb. 19th, the Corcoran had announced that their museum would be closing & taken over by the National Art Gallery & GWU.} The Salon Dore was my favorite part of the gallery w. it's enormous glass mirrors, intricately carved paneling & beautiful ceiling murals all covered in white & gold. The Salon Dore looked like it was taken right out of the Palace of Versailles. It's no MoMA {Museum of Modern Art; NYC}, but another DC favorite of mine is the Hirsshorn Museum & Sculpture Garden on Independence. You should check it out if you have a chance! With the Corcoran's location right on 17th Street NW, we decided to stroll down a couple blocks to the World War II Memorial. After soaking up all the sun & sights, we made our way to Georgetown for a little bit of shopping & grabbed a bite to eat at Café Asia in Rosslyn.
